Orlando Skateboard Arrives in Puerto Rico

Below is Marquitos, a young ripper on a skateboard from PR. He recently got a new Lockhart skateboard from our shop and sent us this photo. Thank you for supporting a fellow Puerto Rican and Professional Skateboarder, Carlos Leon, with you purchase of that board. He is from Isabella. Carlos is our team manager and local skateboard guru. Hopefully you two meet soon! That skatepark looks super fun and we hope you enjoy your skateboard!

Thanks to the support of our locals and family around the US, we have sold out the two batches of this PR/Carlos Leon skateboards. We hope everyone is enjoying them like Marquitos here.

It was a night full of fun for everyone that came by and supported the Orlando skateboard scene. Lockhart Skateboards teamed up with Galactic G to have a board release party for one of the shop team riders, Carlos Leon.

Carlos Leon has been skateboarding for over 20 years and this is his 4th board to come from Lockhart Board Co. This new graphic hits Carlos's roots with his native flag of Puerto Rico!

The shop built wood pallet walls to hang boards and other art as the start in Ivanhoe to encourage and participate in the Orlando Art Community. The new wall gives an eccentric feel to the art show giving the room a great grassroots feel.

Over 75 people came through the night to show support, love, and thanks to the people involved in setting up this show. There was free drinks for anyone 21+ and soda pop for the kids.  DJ Select Red I was on the music all night pushing out the good vibes through the speakers.

Marketing agency owner and local photographer, Chase Gregory, drove up to Casselberry to film and shoot Carlos, Greg Vining and friends. Here is what Chase captured one evening before the sun went down.

Galactic G and Native Roots 4on4&extra Video Contest Series

The Winners!!

Galactic G Skateshop sponsored a video contest series from Native Roots founder Carlos Leon. Carlos is a nationally known professional skateboarder with roots from Puerto Rico and now lives in Orlando Florida.

The video contest was named 4on4&extra. The criteria was to have each skater that wanted to submit an entry do 4 of their best flat ground tricks and finish with a bonus "extra" trick as a banger.

#PrideoftheCity Video Premier on Go Skate Day in Orlando

This year on June 21st "Go Skateboarding Day" we are having a video premier party at the shop at 8pm.  This video is called Pride Of The City and is filmed and edited by Galactic G Team Manager and 27skateboard co. pro skateboarder, Carlos Leon.
Carlos has been skating in Orlando for almost his whole life. He knows the spots and the skaters in Central Florida that have the same passion for skating as himself and is putting them in front of the camera and on the big screen to show and support the great sport and people of skateboarding in neighboring cities.

Carlos has put in other great skateboarders like Jeffrey Silcott, Frankie Perez, Stephen Jarvis, Kyle Jackson, Dexter Caruthers, Justin Lee, Eric Testerman, Manny Claudio and many more.  Skating mostly in Orlando and neighboring towns and skateparks, this video will show that skateboarding in the City Beautiful can be really fun and will encourage others to use skateboarding as a healthy avenue in life to learn great skills like determination, courage, and a healthy alternative to self discipline.

We will be offering free food, drinks, and awesome giveaways for the event. We open the shop at 10am and will have sales going on all day! Free beer will be provided with ID.

Come by and get your skateboard ready for the big "Go Skateboarding Day" which is considered a national holiday for skateboarders because some city regulations to skateboarding on the streets will be lifted for the day.  Then come enjoy a free video premier of local skate spots and talk to the guys in the movie.

National Go Skateboarding Day 2015 at Galactic G Skateshop in Orlando, FL

June 21st every year marks the day that skateboarding laws are taken lightly or thrown out for that one day in most every major city in the Americas.  We here at Galactic G take this day as a religious holiday and invite EVERYONE to our shop to celebrate with Free Food, Raffle Tickets and a Free Movie Premier.

This year, we are premiering a local skateboard film that we are a major sponsor of called "A Day in Paradise."
